Harvest Party!

Last night was the Harvest Party for our church at my Aunt & Uncles house! It was soo much fun. The preparation before hand wasn't so much fun but it was worth it after all. Before hand my mom and I was doing laundry(which I brought home from school to save me money) making a gallon of tea, baking cookies, another dessert that doesn't have a name yet, but their YUMMY, and cutting up the potatoes & vegetables for the soup.

Once, we got to Aunt Karen's & Uncle Terry's we had soo much food. Some of the food was Chili, Potato soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, White Chili, Mexican Chili, Potato Salad, Oyster Crackers, Chips, Chocolate Chip cookies, Pumpkin Bars, Peanut butter no-bake cookies, Hot Chocolate, and a lot more. As you can tell trying to decide what to get once you were in line was a little bit difficult. All that I had was very good!

After the wonderful food, we sat around the bon-fire for awhile. One of the exciting things that happen was the guys playing football. There wasn't enough space for them to play tackle so they played two-hand touch. It was dark and it was funny to watch them trying to play.

Finally, it was time for the hay ride! The hay ride was suppose to be about 6-7 miles. We were all piled close together and sharing blankets. Some came prepared for the long cold ride and some didn't. I was one of the one's who did. I had on a long sleeved shirt, two sweatshirts, and a marshmallow coat. Needless to say I was very warm. :) So, we're on the hayride riding along FREEZING but having soo much fun. All, of a sudden the wagon felt like we were on a gravel road, but wasn't. The people in the back of the wagon was screaming and telling us to stop. So, Larry flashed the light at Uncle Terry and we stopped. Yes, the least expecting thing happened. We blew the back tire on the wagon. Now, what are we suppose to do? We're sitting along side of the road a couple miles away from the house with a flat tire...not going anywhere.

The vehicle that was following us decided to take all of the children back to the house. So we where left w/o a vehicle behind the wagon. When we would see a vehicle coming Uncle Terry, Pastor Chip, and Larry would shine the lights in their eyes hoping that they would stop. It took a long time for the vehicles to stop but they finally did. One of the vehicles was a conservation officer just out looking for people who were shooting deers, who shouldn't be. It was kinda of funny to have him there while we waited on the other vechiles to come pick us all up. Needless, to say we never got to finish our hayride. We all got to ride back in various vehicles and the wagon got pulled home:(

Although we didn't get the hayride, we got to spend time together as a church family, had lots of good food, and overall had a BLAST! I must run to dinner now. Bye until next time
